SEXUAL MYTHS – MALE

SEXUAL MYTHS – MALE

Myth #1: All penises should be straight when erect.
Fact: Most penises point in different directions when erect. Some point upward, some downward, some point to the left and others to the right -- it's completely normal.

Myth #2: Sperm can live in water and impregnate my girlfriend.
Fact: Although it's not impossible, the chances of your floating sperm impregnating your woman in the water are virtually nil. When sperm is exposed to oxygen (there's oxygen in water, hence H2O), they die in under a minute. But keep in mind that if you ejaculate inside of her whilst in a hot tub or the like, she can most definitely get pregnant.

Myth #3: Condoms prevent all STDs.
Fact: Non-curable infections like (oral and genital) herpes and HPV (Human Papilloma Virus - warts) are incurable and if your partner has such infections, she can pass them onto you with or without the use of condoms. Be careful.

Myth #4: Guys are always ready for sex.
Fact: Believe it or not, it's okay if you "aren't in the mood." It doesn't mean that something is wrong with you physically. Stress, fatigue, old age, and even being turned off are viable reasons for not wanting to have sex.

Myth #5: All men should be able to ejaculate at a great distance like the great Peter North.
Fact: Let go of the porn! Not all guys can ejaculate at a great velocity and distance. Although the PC muscle may be able to aid in ejaculating at a further distance, there are no guarantees

Myth #6: When women ejaculate, it's nothing more than urine.
Fact: While some women could very well be urinating on you, most are actually ejaculating a fluid that flows out of the urethra from what's called the Skene's glands. Researchers who performed a chemical analysis of female ejaculate revealed that the presence of high levels of prostatic acid phosphatase (a chemical secreted by the prostate gland and found in semen) would indicate that a woman's ejaculation is similar in composition to semen (only without the sperm, of course).

Myth #7: Masturbating aggressively and rigorously is harmless.
Fact: While masturbating is fine for the most part, if you masturbate often and at an aggressive and rigorous pace, no vagina or mouth will be able to mimic such speeds and thus there's a chance you won't be able to reach climax when with a partner. When you masturbate, do so softly and at a normal, rhythmic speed. This way, your penis will enjoy softer sensations.

Myth #8: A woman can't get pregnant if she's on her period.
Fact: Although the chances might be slimmer, there is still a chance that a woman could get pregnant during her period. Sperm can live inside a woman for up to five days and although most women ovulate between periods, there is a chance that they could ovulate sooner and get pregnant.

Myth #9: Men know when a woman is faking orgasm.
Fact: While some women are terrible at acting, others can win awards for their performances. It's not always their fault as some women think they are actually having orgasms. And there are those who opt to fool you into thinking they had an orgasm.

Myth #10: If your woman wants to use sex toys, then you're an inadequate lover.
Fact: A lot of the time, sex toys are brought into the bedroom to add some variation to your sex life and aren't an attack on your manhood. Don't take it personally (unless of course, all she wants to play with is the toys). Enjoy some variety with your partner.

Myth #11: If you masturbate or have sex every day, you'll run out of sperm.
Fact: Healthy adult men produce about 300 million sperm each day (give or take a couple). The first ejaculate of the day for a healthy male will release approximately 180 million sperm (some contain more); the following ejaculates will contain less sperm that day.

So there you have it, some of the most common questions I get asked over and over again. Now you have the truth, use it wisely.

*SEX DURING MENSUS
? I have a querry from you. Kindly guide in the matter. Can we do sex during menstrual periods?
Can we do sex 7 days a week? Doing sex everyday is normal or abnormal ? Kindly help me.
#Yes, you can do sex every day if you and your husband have the desire and energy for it; Make sure that none of you feel coerced or forced into having sex more often than either of you would like.
The same holds for sex during menstruation. Some women are reported to experience sexual desire and enjoy sex during their periods (obviously some don?t!). If the husband is not turned off by the idea, then there should be no problem at all. However, it is always a good idea to watch yourself for a healthy (as opposed to dark, fowl smelling) menstrual flows, and seek prompt medical check-up in case of suspicion. This suggestion holds good even if you don?t indulge in sex during menstruation

*Vaginal odor
? My grilfriend and I have slept together for the first time and I noticed she has a very strong vaginal odor. I have never experienced such a strong odor with past girlfriends. How should I / should I aproach her ? with the subject , and what can be done to help with the situation?
# Yes, we feel, you should take up this matter with your girl friend in a gentle manner and encourage her to seek medical help. Though women vary in their vaginal odours, strong & offensive odour is often associated with an infection. A simple drug regimen of a few days will clear the problem. Certain food substances such as garlic consumed in substantial quantity are known to make the vaginal odour stronger.

? If a guy masterbates and holds back ejaculation for 2 hours, will the build up of semen left behind from the first ejaculation, be enough quantity for a 2nd ejaculation of equal proportion? Or, does it all come out in the first ejaculation? My husband masterbated to some porn for two hours and after he ejaculated he masterbated again, 1/2 hour later. Something he never does with me. He claims its the 2 hour build up of semen that caused his unusual arousal, not the material he watched. Is it true then that, after his first ejaculation there would still be enough unreleased semen built up inside to create that arousal?
# No. The build up of semen does not cause any arousal. Sexual arousal comes from psychological and physical stimulation of the mind and body and can occur whether or not a man has any semen to ejaculate. In your husband?s case, watching the porn is the most likely cause for his being able to masturbate within half-an-hour of the previous ejaculation.

* Spotting in pregnancy
? Just a quick question. I've had unprotected sex about ten times in the last two months with my girlfriend. She got her period the other day but my girlfriend said that a woman can still get her period even if she is pregnant, is this true? Please respond, i'd really appreciate it. Thank you.
# Some women do find some bleeding around the day their menstruation is due, despite pregnancy. This happens usually during first 1-3 months after conception. However the amount and duration of bleeding is usually much less compared to normal periods. Any element of doubt should be clarified through a reliable pregnancy test.

*PREGNANCY FROMSEX  DURING PERIODS
? i was wondering is it possible that you can get pregnant on the first day you get your periods? because the first time i had sex with my new boyfriend the condom broke so he went to the bathroom and came back and told me that i had been bleeding...the i realised i had just got my periods....and im very worried... and im 3 days late.. please help me!
# You are not likely to become pregnant if you had sex on the first day of menstruation.

*BLEEDING WITHIN  CONDOM
?  A friend of mine called me and was pretty scared. He had just had sex with his girlfriend, and instead of the condom being filled with cum, it was blood red, and looked like blood. I obviously know thats not normal. If u could please email me back with a possible answer, it would greatly be appreciated.

# He needs immediate urological investigation to rule out tearing of foreskin, frenulum, or urinary tract trauma and the like. All can be treated without difficulty. Ask him to see a Urologist.

*STDs WILL NOT TURN TO AIDS

? since last 5 to 6 years I am suffering from sexual problems . when i was at age of 20 , i suffered with some sexual diseases. That time I found some black bold spots on my penis. But later I came to know they are std?s which will came and disappear, but it came to know these std?s will lead to AIDS. just recently I have done my HIV test, it came negative. But sir new problems started. Whenever this std?s occur, I am suffering with ejaculation problem, lungs, bronchitis, pains in legs, bones and joints. I want to know what other diseases accompany std?s other than aids.

# Stop worrying. STDs do not turn into AIDS. Those who have untreated STDs are MORE likely to catch HIV, IF THEY indulge in sexual intercourse with someone who has HIV infection. Simply having an STD does not lead to AIDS. Do you get the point right?

Your complaints like ejaculation problem, bronchitis, joint pains etc. are most probably unrelated to STDs. The sources for these problems have to be identified and treated. Definitely all these problems will vanish if treated properly. First of all, consult a STD specialist. If your symptoms are related to some hidden or incompletely treated STD, appropriate treatment will be given. If they have nothing to do with STDs you will be referred to the concerned specialist.

As to your ejaculation problem, let us know what exactly is happening to enable us to suggest a way out.
